Description
Terroir
This wine comes from an exceptional terroir, the Frankstein, coveted since the Middle Ages.
The steep slopes, facing south-east at an altitude of 300 m, welcome the sun’s rays from the first hours of the day. The soil is made of a two-mica granite arena that filters water and retains heat well, to give it back to the vine during the night.
For this Sylvaner, there is an over-ripening of the grapes and a concentration of noble rot. At the harvest, at the end of November, the grapes had a candied aspect.
Pairing
Exceptional and original, this sweet Sylvaner is an excellent aperitif. It also goes well with Foie Gras or a dessert.
Service
Serve between 8 and 10°C
Ageing
From 5 to 10 years
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand, then pressed in a pneumatic press. Traditional fermentation under temperature control.
